The service is in build and cannot be ordered yet. These features describe the intended launch service and may change before it opens.
Calling features on every plan
Caller display
Caller display will be included with every plan. A compatible handset will show the caller's number when the caller makes it available.
Call forwarding
Call forwarding is being designed for the launch service. We will publish the available destinations, controls and any charges before Lodestar Voice opens.
Control chargeable calls
Essential lines will use purchased credit for chargeable outgoing calls. Purchased credit will not expire while the line remains active.
PIN-protected Free Call Only mode
This mode will block chargeable outgoing calls. It will not block 999, 112, 111, 101, 105, designated 116 services, 0800, 0808 or calls to other Lodestar users because of a zero credit balance. Those calls will work only while the SIP service and every required power, internet and equipment dependency are working.
A PIN will protect the setting so another person cannot turn chargeable calls back on without permission.
Call blocking and spending limits
084, 087, 09 and 118 numbers will be blocked by default. International calling will stay switched off until the customer asks for it.
A customer who enables international calls will set a spending limit first.
Calls that always cost £0.00
The special and freephone numbers listed above will not be blocked because of the selected plan or a zero balance. This does not guarantee availability during a power cut, internet failure, equipment fault or Lodestar outage.
Phones, devices and adapters
Up to three compatible devices will be able to ring together on a line. A device could be a SIP desk phone, a DECT base or a suitable app. An adapter can connect a compatible analogue phone to the service.
Bring compatible equipment
Lodestar will publish the settings and compatibility guidance before launch. Customers will provide their own phone equipment, router, optical network terminal where required, broadband service and power.
Setup guidance before launch
Before ordering opens, Lodestar will publish the supported equipment, settings, adapter options and the help available if a phone does not register.
Invite family and friends
We intend to offer referral minutes when a referred person activates a paid line. Eligibility, the benefit period and complete promotional terms will be published before referrals open. Calls between Lodestar users are planned to cost £0.00.
